Mom/Chef, Dad/Captain and happy Baby Pirate Family for the Online Character Design class I'm taking. I got some great feedback from the teacher, so I'll be making some updates to this. :)
Also the top is my blue pencil sketch, while the bottom is my attempt to clean up the drawing using the teacher's brush he gave us for Photoshop. Fun stuff!
Design Crusaders that are based off a triangle, circle or square with pushed expressions and a clear silhouette showing who the character is. My triangle character is like a Napoleon type Crusader, short, and ready to fight, while my circle character is old, injured and is tired of fighting.
I started taking an Online Character Design Class with CG Masters Academy. Assignment 1: Design a character using simple shapes of a circle, square or triangle. The Circle is supposed to be soft, safe and friendly while the Square should be strong and bold.
This is my painting for the SHM (Shrunkenheadman) Gallery Show. The theme of the gallery show is Nintendo and I was given the character Birdo from the Mario Brothers Games. The art pieces will be on display in San Jose and there will be an online auction to raise money for charity. I will have more information in the coming months.
B is for Basket Monster. The Basket Monster looks just like an open basket ready to receive contents. One mother laid her baby in such a basket to stop it from rolling away while she worked. However, when she turned back to her child, she saw with horror that the basket had grown legs and had scuttled away with the baby, which she never saw again.
Bigpoint, the studio in SF I've been working for these past 2 years closed the end of December. An awesome job at EA presented itself and I couldn't say no. EA has lots of perks, one of them is figure drawing for free every other week.
This is an illustration I did for one of the tables at Dela and I's wedding. Each illustration represented something from our lives. The mission blue butterfly was for the Brisbane table, where I was born and raised.
I recently moved to Los Angeles and I'm looking for something new. I was previously working as a Senior UI artist at EA. Before that I was a UI artist at Bigpoint and a 3d Environment artist for 4 years at Visual Concepts in Novato, CA. I graduated from San Jose State University with a BFA in Illustration/Animation.
