this is cool, nikki....

i may be going on a bit of a tangent, but i could see you really developing something w/ this scarecrow character in a very graphic style.... check out dermot power's work on charlie and the choc. factory.....

he does a lot of really graphic illustrations for the film...and i see a lot of potential with this character having really cool silhouetted shapes with all those pointy head protrusions.....

hey, you've gotten on my butt about posting more to my blog....so here i go in good-spirited retaliation:

i think it would be awesome to have a page of many silhouettes of the scarecrow- with as much shape exloration as possible....and done bold! black marker or black photoshop brush.

Hey Jesse,

thanks for the encouragement. I am planning on working on more ideations for the scarecrow, but i feel my drawing skills are still lacking, so i'm going back to studying the figure. Hopefully i can come back to creative drawing soon.

you are money, and you don't even know it!

i think the creative and exploration drawings are sort of necessary to throw in there alongside the studies...keep things fresh and have a change of pace.
i'm sure you are rockin' the 3-D, so i understand time contraints. rock on!
